Liz Seal Holistic Massage
I found this fabulous post on Pinterest, (link at the bottom of the page) and it all makes sense, so I’ve paraphrased it into a shorter list. Whether diagnosed or not, we may all experience times of low mood or anxiety. Getting into some good habits on a daily basis has been shown to improve our state of mind and may help to change the direction we are heading in emotionally.
The List…
- Start as you mean to go on- Make your bed as soon as you get out of it. Achieving something, anything, every day is a step in the right direction!
- Exercise can help to relieve stress- Don’t roll your eyes! This doesn’t have to be yoga! Whatever you can do to get some endorphins moving around. Outdoors is even better if you can.
- Plan- your days or activities or meals. This helps to give you direction and focus, which can relieve anxiety and increase the feeling of achievement when you can tick things off your list. Grab a lovely notebook- doodle, write a diary, plan!
- Don’t be afraid to tackle problems head on- while others may contribute to a situation, you can control how you respond to it.
- Unplug from social media- Give yourself some space away from the constant demands of posts, tweets, comments. You can survive without knowing what everyone else thinks for a while! Looking at other people’s comments and opinions will often make us compare ourselves to others.
- Prioritise self-care- Well, I would say that, wouldn’t I? But self- care doesn’t need to be a massage or a luxurious bubble bath. Take some time out- spend time on a hobby, have a chat with a friend, cook a nutritious meal, wash your hair, even if you don’t feel like it. Gradually, you will start to feel an improvement in your state of mind…
I firmly believe that taking time for yourself is a valuable factor and would recommend a regular massage to maintain good physical and mental health. Contact me for more information on how aromatherapy and massage could be helpful for you.
