What attracted me to Holistic Massage?

Liz Seal Holistic Massage

I have been interested in Aromatherapy and Holistic Massage for most of my adult life. I was introduced to the wonders of aromatherapy about 30 years ago, and have dabbled for many years.
In 2012 I was offered the opportunity to change my main career (following the ending of my ‘proper’ job, and the offer of a month’s paid leave). I found a short but in-depth course covering 4 massage techniques. At the start, I was concerned that I might struggle to learn something new, but with feedback and encouragement from my tutor and friends, I soon got into the swing of learning. I have continued to study, completing the Clinical Aromatherapy diploma with Penny Price Aromatherapy in February 2016. Ongoing training has added Hot and cold stones, and cupping, with more techniques to follow…

What is Holistic Massage?
The word Holistic means to treat the whole person, taking into account physical, emotional, spiritual and social factors. Massage is the is the physical action of soothing or kneading the muscles to relieve tension or pain. This ‘whole person’ approach appealed to me, we are after all a complex organic organism! Not one part of us can function without the rest.

Holistic Massage my aim

My aim is to help my clients to Relax, Repair and renew, by using an holistic approach to each client. Each of us is wonderfully different, so there cannot be a ‘one-size fits all’ approach. I have a number of treatment options available, and will often combine techniques to best suit the individual needs and wishes of my client. One of my favourite aspects of the treatments I offer is the blending of a massage medium to help my client. When a client relaxes- some even fall asleep- their body can be prompted to repair itself. This can then result in renewal, refreshing the mind, body and spirit.
