Liz Seal Holistic Massage

Citrus oils come from the Rutacae family of plants, including Lemon, Orange, Grapefruit and Lime. They are all good digestive oils, and are beneficial to the skin. For the Emotions, this family of oils are refreshing and uplifting.

• Citrus oils are excellent digestive stimulants- by improving the digestion, we can reduce the discomfort associated with bloating and sluggish digestive transit. This is due to their anti-spasmodic properties.
• This family of oils are balancing to the skin, making them useful for both dry and oily skin conditions.
• While varying in effectivity, the Citrus family of oils are uplifting and calming, making them useful in times of agitation and over-excitement. Some are mildly sedative, promoting rest and relaxation.
• The balancing action of the Citrus family makes them useful where there is an imbalance in the body, Lemon oil particularly can reduce the acid in the body. This is a useful action for conditions where there is an increase in acids, such as arthritis.
• The uplifting action of the citrus oils makes them useful in an emotional crisis. Neroli, Petitgrain and Bergamot are all effective for nervous disorders such as depression and mental fatigue.

Refreshing Citrus Oils

My ‘work and play well’ diffuser blend includes a range of citrus oils to refresh and awaken, I use it as a pick me up, usually mid-afternoon, when my energy levels dip. The feedback I’ve had from other users of this blend is that it helps to improve concentration, cheering and lightening the mood in the office or home. Please contact me for further information on the diffuser oils or to arrange a treatment.
