The Joys of Aromareflexology

Liz Seal Holistic Massage

Massaging the feet can bring relief from a number of symptoms and bring about a state of deep relaxation. Many people worry that they are ticklish or having someone see or touch their feet but fear not!

Aromareflex is an assessment and treatment technique which uses reflexology to get an impression of the general health of the client, and then a relaxing massage using a carrier oil or lotion with essential oils to promote healing and rebalancing.

Reflexology is a technique which has been practiced for thousands of years and is a treatment of the feet, and hands, and operates under the system of pressure points and meridian lines within the body. This is a completely safe form of therapy the purpose of which is to normalise the body’s function, break down tension and alleviate stress. Pressure points on the feet reflect all parts of the body, both external and internal, organs, glands, limbs and torso. This pressure can also stimulate the flow of energy to relax or refresh us.

By stimulating the reflex points of the feet (or hands) and
releasing the congestion around these reflex points, we can release tension and energy in the reflected part of the body. Adding the power of essential oils increases the energetic qualities of the treatment.

Massaging the hands and feet can also be a valuable treatment in situations where the recipient is ill, limited in mobility or is unsure about receiving a body massage due to embarrassment caused by their body image or skin condition. With a little instruction, it is quite possible to apply reflex pressure to your own hands or feet to continue your treatment in your own home.

For a full consultation and aromareflex treatment a 45 minute appointment would be required, if you would like to indulge in a little extra luxury, a neck and shoulder massage while enjoying a foot spa, followed by an aromareflex treatment would require a 90 minute appointment.
